Members of the North Wind Quilt Guild host a variety of events throughout the year. Whether it is a small group, specialty group or even a social event. There is a place for you to meet new people and learn new techniques. Please come by and visit our Guild, we love to see new faces and share ideas.
A new activity that has just begun is a Machine Embroidery group. This activity will be led by Lois Silva. It will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month also starting in March. The first meeting will be on March 15th . The group will be meeting from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Fairfield Adult Recreation Center. You are welcome to come and stay as long as you would like. Bring your embroidery machine and all your equipment and work on your own project at your own pace. Lois Silva will be around during this time to help you out with any problems you may have. This will be an ongoing Activity Group for as long as there is an interest.
We also have an ongoing project where we make Pet Beds for dogs and cats at the local animal shelter. Interested Guild members or any other people who are interested in helping meet each month at Melissa Gonzalez's home to work on the Pet Beds. We are always willing to take your fabric and batting scraps. We are also collecting fleece and/or blankets to be used to make the beds. For more information about this project please contact Meta Bonnell or Melissa Gonzalez.
We recently finished and activity called Beginning Hand Appliqué. This activity was led by Diane Salera. Diane taught beginning hand appliquérs different methods of hand appliqué. Members started out learning with a freezer paper method and progressed from there. This was a keep your own project featuring applique'. This Activity has currently finished.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page to view another completed activity of "keep your own blocks" featuring teapot themes. The group ended their time with a tea party at Linde Lane Tea House in Dixon, CA.
